How to maintain the electric pool heater?
Generally the maintenance of this device is done during wintering and/or when restarting the device. This does not prevent regular checks on its proper functioning during the season. In any case at least once a year!
This essentially consists of checking the various electrical components of the device as well as the electrical cables, their connections, the tightening of the connections at the terminal block, contactors and to check the earth connection.
An exterior cleaning of the heater can be done, but with clear water only, without solvent product.
How to winterize the electric pool heater?
First and foremost, follow the manufacturer's instructions. First, make sure that the power supply is cut off at the head of the line. If the electric heater is installed on a by-pass, the valves must be closed so as to isolate the device from the pool water circuit.
Most often, the electric pool heater has a a drain plug, just remove it for the water to escape. Otherwise, you must unscrew the union fittings that connect them to the by-pass.
